Job: 3D Technical Artist

Godot Wizard and Game Art Enthusiast

For our upcoming debut title we are looking for a new core team member defining our art pipelines and being the engine glue!

Core Responsibilities:

  • Work with Leads to develop an efficient and productive art asset pipeline with minimal points of failure
  • Work with Leads to define upkeep naming conventions and folder structures
  • Support Lead Artist developing proficient Blender, material and texturing workflows for fast engine integration
  • Support Lead Arist with character rigging, texture painting, character animation and environment art
  • Create beautiful visual effects and 3D and 2D shaders
  • Build tool scripts and other editor productivity tools for artists and dev team
  • Help building responsive UI supporting multiple platforms
  • Work with Art Direction to achieve final look and feel
  • Help Art and Marketing creating marketing material, articles and video clips.

Qualifications:

You have

  • 2+ years of experience working specifically with Godot
  • an online portfolio showcasing games you worked on and art you created
  • highly proficient Blender skills and are very comfortable with GDScript and the Godot Shader Language
  • experience with the full 3D character creation pipeline from start to finish: modeling > texturing > rigging > animation > importing and writing the custom character controller script, including animation blending and animation retargeting
  • extensive knowledge about platform limitations and platform specific workflows in Godot as well as engine optimizations
  • a passion to solve technical as well as artistic challenges
  • the stamina and determination to dill down on bugs and issues even after all options seem exhausted, find workarounds
  • an interest in working on action oriented top down multiplayer games
  • the ability and desire to communicate both technical as well as artistic issues and personal opinions respectfully, freely and clearly
  • a positive collaborative mindset

Bonus if

  • 4+ years of experience working specifically with Godot
  • experience working with other engines
  • experience with Godot 4 high level multiplayer API
  • able to read/write C++
  • committed Godot engine PRs, comfortable traversing the engine source code
  • created and maintain publicly available FOSS plugins or shaders for Godot
  • experience in the AA+ games industry
  • very strong VFX or animation skills
  • released games (team or solo)
