Programmer
with Network and online Multiplayer experience
For our upcoming debut title we are looking for a new core team member filling the position as Programmer!
Core Responsibilities:
- Be the low level technical expert on our dev team, especially in all things networking and multiplayer
- Design high level network architecture for our games using a Godot based tool chain
- Develop tools for the dev team and extend the engine if needed
- Use internal and external debugger and profilers to help optimize the performance of our games
- Support other dev team members whenever needed with gameplay programming, shaders, automated tests, asset tooling, marketing/PR.
You have:
- a formal education or background in Computer Science or an equivalent level of experience including a proven track record
- published multiplayer games solo or in a team
- experience using the Godot 4 high level multiplayer tools
- experience deploying different kinds of online multiplayer solutions (websockets, P2P, dedicated server)
- a keen interest in various backend solutions
- experience building Godot from source
- an open mind to challenge UX modus operandi in multiplayer games
- a track record of developing performant code in C++ but are also comfortable using dynamically typed languages (like GDScript) for scripting purposes
- the ability and desire to communicate complex technical issues and personal opinions respectfully, freely and clearly
- a positive collaborative mindset
Bonus if:
- 3+ years of experience creating and releasing Godot games
- you have experience with lag-prediction and rollback netcode
- you have implemented custom game server backends (authorization, matchmaking, anticheat)
- experience working in AA+ teams on action oriented online multiplayer games (not necessarily using Godot)
- contributed to the Godot source
- contributed to well known larger Godot plugins
- developed multi-platform games
- you have published on console or strong interest in engine dev and realtime rendering pipelines
